Dr. Gianoukakis’ special interest focuses on autoimmune thyroid disease, thyroid dysfunction and thyroid cancer. He is investigating molecular markers as a diagnostic tool in the Thyroid cancer.
Biography
Dr. Andrew Gianoukakis is a Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and an Investigator at The Lundquist Institute. He is the Chief of Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
He is an expert in Thyroid Disorders with particular expertise in Advanced Thyroid Cancer and Graves’ Disease including Thyroid Eye disease. He directs the Thyroid Clinic and Thyroid Oncology Clinic at Harbor-UCLA where he also serves as Fellowship Training Program Director.
Dr. Gianoukakis has extensive experience in Clinical trials for Advanced Thyroid Cancer. He is a member of the International Thyroid Oncology Group (ITOG) and the Southern California Thyroid Cancer Consortium (SCThyCC) as well as a medical advisor to The Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association (ThyCa) and The Graves’ Disease and Thyroid Foundation (GDATF).
