Research
The Díaz Lab at The Lundquist Institute investigates the biology of normal and tumor cells to advance knowledge on mechanisms of cell invasion and organelle adaptation to stress. Their goal is to find novel interventions that can provide clinical solutions to human conditions such as chronic wounds, rare disease-associated tumors and cancer.
Biography
Dr. Begoña Díaz received a PhD in Sciences by the University Autónoma of Madrid (Spain) in 1999 and completed her Post-Doctoral Training at the University of California at Berkeley in 2004. She held Staff Scientist Positions at the National Center for Oncological Investigation (CNIO) in Madrid (Spain) and then at the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Research Institute in La Jolla (California) where she was Research Assistant Professor until 2016. Dr. Díaz is member of AACR, ASCB and the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.
