Research

Dr. Swidergall conducts research in immunobiology to uncover the detailed mechanisms underlying innate and adaptive immune responses to pathogens. His work aims to inform the development of novel strategies to improve diagnostic approaches and enhance or complement existing antimicrobial therapies for infectious diseases.

Biography

Dr. Marc Swidergall earned undergraduate degrees in Biology and Microbiology before completing his Ph.D. in Molecular Mycology in 2015 at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. He went on to conduct postdoctoral training in Infectious Diseases at the Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (TLI). In 2017, he was awarded a prestigious Career Development Grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He completed his postdoctoral work in 2019 and, in the same year, established his independent laboratory at TLI.
