Biography

Dr. Timothy Horeczko is a physician, educator, and researcher guided by a model of servant leadership: Committed to the professional growth of learners, the translation of medical knowledge into meaningful practice, and the continuous improvement of systems that support both. As a senior faculty member at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he is also the Program Director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program, Dr. Horeczko works in an academic safety-net hospital where he has the privilege of caring for the community and mentoring the next generation of emergency and pediatric emergency physicians.

His work centers on cultivating thoughtful, independent clinicians through relational teaching, grounded feedback, and evidence-informed educational design. Dr. Horeczko draws from principles of andragogy and heutagogy to create learning environments that support self-directed growth and adaptive expertise.

He also contributes to global education through The Pediatric Emergency Playbook—a podcast dedicated to making high-quality, clinically relevant content accessible to a worldwide audience, including colleagues in low-resource settings. At his core, he believes that educators are stewards of both knowledge and people. He strives to listen well, lead thoughtfully, and continue learning—alongside his colleagues and students—every step of the way.
