Nature Communications Study from The Lundquist Institute Identifies Molecular Mechanism Underlying Peripartum Cardiomyopathy

TLI scientists shed new light on peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) causes, a rare and life-threatening form of pregnancy-related heart failure. Michelle L. Matter, PhD, and her team reveal that the gene PTRH2 help the maternal heart adapt to pregnancy-induced stress.
