Research
Emiley Chang, MD, MPH, MSHPM is a geriatrician and health services researcher focusing on adapting and implementing evidence-based strategies to improve quality of care within the safety net. Her interests and projects include community-based participatory research, geriatric workforce education, reducing racial/ethnic health disparities in early detection and management of dementia, improving advance care planning in immigrant communities, increasing access to complementary and integrative health modalities for chronic pain management through group medical visits, and improving Long COVID diagnosis and connection to social services and support.
Biography
Dr. Chang received a B.A. in Human Biology and M.D. from Stanford University, M.P.H. from UC Berkeley, and M.S. in Health Policy and Management from UCLA School of Public Health. She completed internal medicine residency training at UC Davis Medical Center, followed by geriatrics fellowship at UCLA. She additionally completed the UCLA National Research Service Award (NRSA) primary care research fellowship. She is a Health Sciences Associate Professor at the UCLA Geffen School of Medicine and maintains a geriatrics primary care practice at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She serves as Director of Clinical and Preventive Services in the Division of Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
