Stem Cell-based Partnership Resource for Investigating Human Diseases and Training
SPRINT is dedicated to expanding access to human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) technologies for researchers studying human disease—especially those focused on underserved, racial, and social minority populations. By bridging gaps in resources, expertise, and infrastructure, SPRINT empowers scientists in regions with limited access to stem cell tools to advance innovative, human-relevant disease models.
Our Services
SPRINT partners with research institutions to deliver high-quality stem cell laboratory services and expertise that accelerate human disease research.
Our services include:
- Patient-derived iPSC generation from accessible somatic cells, including whole blood and fibroblasts
- Genetically modified pluripotent stem cell lines tailored to individual or collaborative research programs
- Organ-specific directed differentiation and disease modeling
In addition to laboratory services, SPRINT offers hands-on workshops and training programs in stem cell fundamentals, iPSC generation, genetic modification, and directed differentiation. Training is available to researchers, students, and healthcare professionals locally and statewide, with online courses extending access to iPSC technologies beyond the lab.
Our Facilities
SPRINT provides investigators with access to fully equipped stem cell laboratory facilities, offering the ideal environment to independently conduct experiments or gain hands-on experience with stem cell techniques. Whether you’re advancing your own research or building new technical skills, our shared lab space is designed to support rigorous, cutting-edge work.
Our Process
Before launching services or training for an investigator-initiated project, the SPRINT leadership team works closely with investigators to ensure all required regulatory approvals—IRB, SCRO, and IBC—are in place. This collaborative review helps streamline project startup while maintaining the highest ethical and compliance standards.
To ensure a safe and productive research environment, investigators must complete mandatory Environment, Health & Safety training through The Lundquist Institute, along with core laboratory safety instruction. Required training includes hazardous waste handling, blood-borne pathogens, and viral vector safety when applicable—equipping researchers with the knowledge needed to work confidently and responsibly in the SPRINT laboratory.

Our Technology
Beyond our state-of-the-art lab space and training programs, SPRINT offers powerful stem cell–based technologies that drive innovation across therapeutics, medical devices, software, and diagnostics. Our platforms enable human-relevant insights that accelerate development and elevate discovery.
