Evaluation of antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods

Research Description

One of the most important tests performed by the clinical microbiology laboratory is antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST), which provides guidance to physicians on appropriate antimicrobial therapy for their patients. Therefore, AST methods must be accurate, reproducible, and associated with clinical outcomes. My research focuses on studying the accuracy and reproducibility of AST methods for less commonly isolated organisms, such as those within the Burkholderia cepacia complex.
