The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation is pleased to announce that Denise Al Alam, PhD has been awarded a prestigious S10 Instrumentation Grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of the Director.
The award, totaling $750,000, was granted in early May, to support the acquisition of a Leica Stellaris Confocal Microscope, a state-of-the-art imaging instrument that will significantly enhance the Institute’s research capabilities.
The new microscope enables researchers to visualize cells and tissues with exceptional clarity and precision. By producing detailed, three-dimensional images of biological samples, it helps scientists better understand disease processes, cellular behavior, and the mechanisms underlying human health.
This award underscores Dr. Al Alam’s leadership and commitment to advancing research excellence through the development of cutting-edge shared resources. The acquisition of this instrumentation will benefit researchers across multiple disciplines.
We extend our sincere congratulations to Dr. Al Alam and all those who contributed to securing this important award. Their efforts continue to elevate TLI’s scientific impact and support innovation across our research community.
