The presentational method for this activity will be Case Presentation with Learner Participation, Panel Discussion, and Lecture with Q&A. This activity targets Primary Care Physicians and all others caring for the cardiac patient. This activity will encompass the following desirable physician attributes: Patient Care & Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, Professionalism, and Practice-Based Learning & Improvement.

Desired Outcomes

At the conclusion of the activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Diagnose and manage heart failure using new treatment modalities
  2. Identify the manifestations and risk factors of CAD, PVD and Lower Extremity PAD
  3. Examine short-and-long term outcomes of treatment selection for patients with heart disease, including surgical and non-surgical remedies
  4. Manage aortic stenosis patients in office appropriately and evaluate hospital-based practices
  5. Describe the TAVR procedure, and through case-based examples, illustrate which patients may benefit from this modality
  6. Choose the most suitable advanced treatment for patients with heart and lung disease taking into consideration cultural and linguistic factors, in order to tailor care appropriately
