Research Description

Dr. Stringer has had a lifelong focus on improving exercise capacity in patients with a variety of heart and lung conditions, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease, Dyspnea, HIV, Exercise Intolerance, Pre-Operative Exercise Training, and Heart Failure. He also performs Exercise Consultations on patients with difficult to diagnose conditions.. Our research interventions include various devices, medications, behavioral therapy, and exercise rehabilitation, however, our motto is “Exercise is the Best Medicine.”

Dr Stringer also has an interest in the Medical Humanities and has over 15 lectures addressing various topics involving medicine and art, music, history, self-experimentation, medical ethics, medical education, the Civil War, Sherlock Holmes, Goya, and medieval medicine.
