Innovation Hub Executive Directors
Each Innovation Hub is led by two Executive Directors serving in complementary roles along the translational continuum, one with expertise in clinical and translational research and one with a biomedical research background. Together, they serve as stewards, connectors, and champions for their Hub, bridging bench and bedside while preserving investigator autonomy and scientific freedom.
Advanced Therapeutics & Biomedical Technologies
We are focused on turning scientific discovery into real progress for patients. Across the Hub, investigators are developing next-generation therapies, advanced genomics and AI-enabled diagnostics, and innovative medical technologies to address complex diseases. From regenerative medicine and stem cell science to precision therapeutics and device innovation, we are working to move promising ideas from the laboratory toward the clinic, with the goal of creating meaningful new options for patients and families.
Systems Medicine & Precision Prevention
We are focused on preventing disease before it takes hold. By combining insights from biology, physiology, and clinical medicine, investigators work to better understand the complex systems that drive chronic disease – including cardiovascular, lung, metabolic, and kidney diseases – and the mechanisms underlying exercise intolerance across diverse clinical and real-world settings.
Translation Science & Population Health
We are focused on ensuring that scientific discovery leads to better health in the real world. Investigators partner closely with clinicians and communities to translate research into improved care, expand access to proven treatments, and strengthen health outcomes across diverse populations. By connecting discovery with everyday healthcare, we help ensure that innovation reaches the patients and communities who need it most.
Infectious Diseases & Immunology
We are focused on addressing some of the world’s most urgent health challenges. Researchers study how infections and the immune system shape diseases ranging from emerging pathogens to cancer and autoimmune conditions. Our work includes developing vaccines, new antimicrobial therapies, and immune-based treatments designed to protect vulnerable populations and strengthen global health.
Institute Executive Officers
Institute Executive Officers are senior scientific stewards who work horizontally across the organization, connecting Investigators, Hubs, Centers, and infrastructure. They set direction, reduce fragmentation, and increase effectiveness across TLI’s most important mission-critical functions.
