Witt, MD, lead researchers at the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center (LA BioMed), received the Serge & Yvette Dadone Clinical Teaching Award in Honor of Saleh Salehmoghaddam, M.D., a peer-reviewed recognition of their “outstanding dedication, innovation, and sustained excellence in clinical and classroom teaching,” according to the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, which presented the awards.

LOS ANGELES – (May 2, 2013) – Patients with increasing accumulations of coronary artery calcium were more than six times more likely to suffer from a heart attack or die from heart disease than patients who didn’t have increasing accumulations, according to a recent study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
